Au lieu de placer ces colorants \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur de plastique massif et d\u2019assez grande dimension comme il avait pu me le montrer avant, ces colorants peuvent \u00eatre plac\u00e9s \u00e0 la surface d\u2019un miroir. Ouvrant un tiroir, il m\u2019en montra quelques exemples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leur forme \u00e9tait cylindrique et leur diam\u00e8tre n&#8217;exc\u00e9dant pas quelques centim\u00e8tres. Quant \u00e0 leurs couleurs, elles allaient du rouge \u00e0 l&#8217;orange, en passant par le vert et le bleu. Sur certains \u00e9chantillons, le colorant avait ainsi l\u00e9g\u00e8rement coul\u00e9. En les \u00e9clairant avec une lampe ultraviolette, une lumi\u00e8re visible intense \u00e9tait \u00e9mise par fluorescence. Sous l\u2019objectif de mon appareil photo, les miroirs venaient former d\u2019\u00e9tranges halos circulaires per\u00e7ant l\u2019obscurit\u00e9 de leurs couleurs. S\u00e9bastien Forget m\u2019expliqua qu\u2019en ajoutant un second miroir en face du premier, il \u00e9tait possible de fabriquer cette lumi\u00e8re tr\u00e8s directive. Lorsqu\u2019une lumi\u00e8re ultraviolette vient \u00e9clairer le miroir, les mol\u00e9cules organiques l\u2019absorbent et \u00e9mettent en \u00e9change une l\u00e9g\u00e8re lumi\u00e8re visible. Une partie de cette lumi\u00e8re est renvoy\u00e9e sur le miroir color\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019aide d\u2019un second miroir convenablement plac\u00e9. En revoyant \u00e0 nouveau le colorant, ces mol\u00e9cules \u00e9mettent une lumi\u00e8re ayant exactement les m\u00eames propri\u00e9t\u00e9s que celle qui lui revient. Cette derni\u00e8re exp\u00e9rience cl\u00f4tura ainsi ma visite du laboratoire de physique des lasers en compagnie de S\u00e9bastien Forget. Des mol\u00e9cules organiques et leurs applications en physiques des lasers, la visite m\u2019a permis de d\u00e9couvrir le monde des lasers organiques si propice \u00e0 une m\u00e9diation par la photographie que le programme \u00ab&nbsp;la fabrique des lueurs\u00bb cherchait \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper.
